Welcome to the first of many “Pond Talks”. In this segment all three FrogJump writers have been given the same set of questions to answer. Each writer speaks from their own point of view, providing individual insight and opinions regarding the storylines of men’s D3VB. It is with great pride I announce our newest contributor here at the Pond, Mr. Bradley Schneider. Bradley comes to FrogJump as a familiar and storied face in the D3VB community.
Another week, another D3 Coaches Poll! Springfield retains their hold as the top program in the country, but their was definitely a shakeup this week as many ranked teams gained new losses and wins!
Elite programs are playing with one goal at the end of each year, to win a National Championship. Amazing as it is just to qualify for the NCAA Tournament or advance to the Final Four, those moments can be bittersweet when you fall short of the ultimate prize. Aside from Springfield, Stevens, and SUNY New Paltz – no program has ever been able to celebrate a National Title. But today we will! I am going to examine my favorite team from each year of the NCAA era that didn’t win the National Title. So let me introduce you to The Champs That Never Were.
Another week, another coaches poll! We’ve had a bunch of matches since the Tuesday, including some showdowns between nationally ranked programs! The top 4 Midwest teams battled it out this past week in conference play, as Carthage took on North Central in the CCIW and Dominican played Benedictine in NACC play (more on that later). We’ve had some shake ups in the Coaches Poll, so let’s dive in.
