Impact Recruits 2025 – Part II

As always, the players featured aren’t ranked in any meaningful order, as we at FrogJump do not rank incoming recruits. However, below are some faces I believe we should get to know, as I feel they can potentially make an impact on their teams in the 2025 season. Parents, do not email me asking “why was my athlete not listed”… you will not like my response. Dive into part II!

Dante Palombo – Middle Blocker – Juniata

Palombo might be the heir apparent to Luke Hoffman at Juniata. A tad undersized for a middle blocker, Dante makes up for it with impressive physicality. Whether it’s at Middle or at Opposite, I could see him getting on the court next year.

Joey Preische – Outside Hitter – Springfield

Springfield has an impressive class coming in this year, and Preische is one of several Outsides coming in looking to compete for court time. Impressive arm and dynamic, he’ll be a newcomer to keep an eye on come January.

Coleton Welter – Outside Hitter – St. John Fisher

St. John Fisher will be looking to reload this year, and Welter has a good shot at helping them do it. Coleton has the potential to be a very terminal attacker (even by UVC standards), the question is going to be on which pin. If he can pass, he’ll slot in at OH, if not he’s going to have to compete for reps at Opposite.

Xzavion Willett – Middle Blocker – Carthage

Another Firebird coming in hot. Willet is another underrated Middle heading out to Kenosha. Xzavion is going to be a workhorse middle, eventually grinding opponents down later in his career. He may not start this year due to the depth of middles at Carthage, but he and fellow freshman Sweitzer will be great pieces for Carthage long term.

Shawn Zheng – Outside/Opposite – Vassar

Vassar will be entering a rebuilding phase following their most recent run to the NCAA championship game, and Shawn Zheng has the potential to help right away. A tall pin (6’6”) who can pass and attack on the left or right, Zheng provides versatility for a Brewers squad that’s graduating a lot of upperclassmen production. He’ll need to get a little stronger long term, but the potential is there.
