Team of the Week (2/21 – 2/27)

The FrogJump Team of the Week is our weekly honor roll, recognizing some of the top performances at each of the seven positions from the last week. Honorees are nominated by SID/Coaches across the country and selected by a committee of FrogJump staff.

Andrew Kim – Outside Hitter – Vassar

The first of several Brewers on this week’s honor roll. Andrew Kim finished last week with 21 kills (3.5 kills/set, .475%) 9 blocks (1.5 blocks/set) 14 digs (2.33 digs/set) and 3 aces in victories over Nazareth and St. John Fisher.

Corey Mayotte – Outside Hitter – Loras

The sophmore outside hitter was automatic last week, powering the Duhawks to victories over Aurora and Benedictine with insane production. He finished last week with 46 kills (4.18 kills/set, .506%), 12 digs, 6 blocks, and 4 aces.

Gavin Van Beveren – Middle Blocker – Vassar

The second Brewer to make this week’s honor roll, Van Beveren was essentially unstoppable during Vassar’s matches last week. He finished the week with 18 kills (3 kills/set, .533%) and 4 blocks.

Tyler Hoke – Middle Blocker – Stevens

The freshman middle blocker was huge for the Ducks last week, helping them stay atop the landscape with wins over Rutgers-Newark, Misericordia, and Juniata. Hoke finished the week with 18 kills (1.8 kills/set, .548), 16 blocks (1.6 blocks/set), 4 digs, and 1 ace.

Jarrett Anderson – Opposite – Springfield

Jarrett Anderson continues to perform at Player of the Year levels for the Pride and shows no signs of letting up. The senior opposite powered the Pride to a 3-0 week over Eastern Nazarene, Emmanuel, and Rivier with a combined 42 kills (4.67 kills/set, .418%), 3 blocks, 15 digs, and an astounding 20 aces (2.22 aces/set).

Jacob Kim – Setter – Vassar

Jacob Kim had the Brewers flowing this weekend, as they swept UVC foes St. John Fisher and Nazareth in convincing fashion. Kim led the Brewers to hit .379 on the weekend while compiling 64 assists (10.67 assists/set), 5 blocks, and 15 digs.

Zach Knudsen – Libero – NYU

The sophomore libero had a big weekend for NYU, as he helped them secure a huge conference win over St. John Fisher. Knudsen finished the match keeping everything off the floor, compiling 15 digs (5 digs/set) and an assist in the Violet’s victory.
