Team of the Week (2/13 – 2/19)

The FrogJump Team of the Week is our weekly honor roll, recognizing some of the top performances at each of the seven positions from the last week. Honorees are nominated by SID/Coaches across the country and selected by a committee of FrogJump staff.

Andrew Kim – Outside Hitter – Vassar

The senior Outside Hitter reminded everyone why he’s one of the best pins in D3VB last week, powering Vassar to wins over Springfield, MIT, and Stevenson. Kim finished the week with 48 kills (4.8 kills/set, .519%), 18 digs, 5 blocks, and 2 aces.

Ty Ingrao – Outside Hitter – North Park

Ingrao did everything he could to upset Carthage this weekend, leading North Park to a near reverse sweep of the reigning national champions. The sophomore outside finished the match with 17 kills (3.4 kills/set, .438%), 3 blocks, and 2 digs.

Jeremy Cardenas – Middle Blocker – North Central

Cardenas gets featured for the second week in a row following his performances out in California. The senior middle helped NCC finish 2-1 in the Sunshine state, ending the week with 30 kills (3 kills/set, .551%) and 17 blocks (1.7 blocks/set).

Cal Iwinski – Middle Blocker – Dominican

Cal Iwinski came up big for Dominican this past week, as the Stars begin to find their groove with wins over IWU and Wittenberg. Cal finished the week with 12 kills (.346%) and 11 blocks (1.57 blocks/set).

Oscar Munoz Trinidad – Opposite – Elmira

Oscar Munoz Trinidad led Elmira to victories over Misericordia and NYU last week, putting the UVC on notice in the process. He finished the week with 26 kills (2.75 kills/set, .319%) 3 aces, 10 digs, and 2 blocks.

Brandon Long – Setter – Baldwin Wallace

Brandon continues to have a career year, finishing the last week with 88 assists (11 assists/set) and 9 digs as the Yellow Jackets split matches with Lancaster Bible and Geneva. Long now sits in the top 10 for assists/set in the nation (9.98 assists/set).

Logan Essen – Libero – Mt. St. Joseph

Mt. St. Joseph couldn’t have asked more of Logan last week, as the junior libero kept everything off the floor. He finished the week with 46 digs (4.18 digs/set) and a .958% passer efficiency.
