Team of the Week: 3/21 – 3/27

The FrogJump Team of the Week is our weekly honor roll, recognizing some of the top performances at each of the seven positions from the last week of matches. Honorees are nominated by their SID/Coaches and selected by a committee of FrogJump staff.

Rafa Robert – Endicott – Outside Hitter

Rafa earns his first FrogJump honor after incredible play last week. The senior Outside Hitter ended the week with 74 kills (4.63 kills/set) while hitting .394%. He added 6 aces from the line alongside 5 blocks to help Endicott go 3-1 in matches for the week. All love.

Mason Nissley – Messiah – Outside Hitter

Mason’s torrid pace of play earns him a consecutive Team of the Week honor. The junior Outside Hitter was instrumental in Messiah’s undefeated week, finishing with 48 kills (5.33 kills/set) while hitting .470%. He added 8 aces and 3 blocks to his final stat line as Messiah asserted dominance over three MAC opponents (Misericordia, Stevenson, and Eastern).

David Markes – Carthage – Middle Blocker

Markes continues his inaugural season with another FrogJump honor. He was unstoppable in Carthage’s CCIW victories versus NCC and IWU, ending the week with 16 kills (4 kills/set), hitting .715%, with 3 blocks (.75 blocks/set).

Solomon Dail – Aurora – Middle Blocker

The Freshman Middle Blocker from Aurora was instrumental in Aurora’s 3-0 stretch, which saw them defeat California Lutheran, Rockford, and Concordia University – Chicago. Dail finished the week with 13 blocks (1.4 blocks/set) and 24 kills (2.67 kills/set) while hitting .360%.

George Kougan – Dominican – Opposite

The Godfather came alive this month, reminding the landscape why he is one of the top Opposites in D3VB. Kougan caps off a month of stellar play with a pair of insane performances last week against UCSC and IIT. Kougan was dominant in both victories, finishing with 11 blocks (1.38 blocks/set) and 37 kills (4.63 kills/set) while hitting .515%. Woof.

Jack McGuire – Dominican – Setter

The Old Man continues to lead the Stars to the victory, facilitating an offense which hit .387% last week. McGuire remains the most aggressive Setter in D3VB, a force both on offense and defense. He ended the week with 97 assists (9.7 assists/set), 10 blocks (1 block/set) and 11 kills (1.1 kills/set) while hitting .588%.

Alex Nonhof – Aurora – Libero

Alex earns his first weekly honor behind an amazing stretch of matches. The Freshman Libero ended the week with 38 digs (3.45 digs/set) while passing a 2.75 (three point scale) on 60 pass attempts with no reception errors.
