Lessons from the Bench

Frog Jumps is devoted to the coverage, analysis, and growth of D3 Men’s Volleyball in the USA; and this page is focused on growth.

I started playing volleyball in 2006, my first team was a collection of older brothers whose sisters all played for WHOOSH Volleyball Club in Orange County, New York. We were not very good, just a bunch of guys who wanted to play. After two years I was hooked and wanted to keep playing after high school. I knew nothing about the volleyball landscape, I had never played higher level ball, but I knew I wanted to keep playing. This led to my decision to go to SUNY New Paltz, where through a combination of luck, opportunity, and hard work I earned a chance to wear the uniform.

Ever since, Volleyball has been an intrinsic part of my life. The experiences and lessons I’ve learned from it are countless, and I learn more every day. I could not in good conscious create a volleyball website without doing my part to pass on that knowledge and growth.

This section is devoted to talking about the game. Whether you are a player, a coach, or even a fan, please know this section is created for you. It is my attempt to pass on and discuss the lessons I learned on the bench. If you ever feel passionate about a subject, please reach out and I’d be happy to share your thoughts.
